Large national contracts for local company

Affinity Digital has been hiding its light under the proverbial bushel for a while now but with the winning of three large new contracts, the Truro-based company really can’t keep a low profile any longer.

The award-winning provider of technology and digital communication solutions has won three contracts, together worth over £700k, and is now actively seeking to expand its workforce.

Two of the new contracts are with a major law enforcement agency based in London and with Innovate UK based in Swindon. This Government site is where businesses and research organisations can apply for funding and other assistance to help them develop an innovative idea, test its feasibility, research and develop it and demonstrate it in a prototype. The third contract is with the giant retail group Timpson who have over 1400 shops and subsidiaries all over the UK.

Affinity, who worked on a massive computer software program for the Eden project a decade ago, has gone from strength to strength since. It recently rebuilt the prestigious Lotus Cars website and installed a new Content Management system (CMS) for the luxury car giant. Forward-planning meant the company survived the financial crisis of 2008/9 and it has grown steadily since.

In the last couple of years it has delivered over £700k’s worth of business with the UK Government via the G Cloud system – the agreement between the government and suppliers who provide cloud-based services.

Locally it has provided IT solutions for the Cornwall Air Ambulance and Falmouth University. The Affinity team are more than happy to work on local projects, but the bulk of their work is with large national and multi-national organisations.

“We are delighted to have brought so much extra business to Cornwall,” commented Jonathan Duvall, Affinity’s CEO. “We currently employ nine people at our Truro office and outsource to others in Cornwall and elsewhere when needed. But we are actively recruiting at the moment, looking especially for people with Drupal and Magento CMS and e-commerce software skills.”

“Affinity is a great company to work for,” added Chief Operating Officer Tom Payne. “We have all the advantages of living in Cornwall with its great lifestyle, but work on large, prestigious national public and private sector contracts.”
