At Affinity, we love a challenge, especially one that brings us together. So in March, we set ourselves a goal: collectively cover the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats (that’s 874 miles!) through any activity we liked.
Our team ran, walked, hiked, cycled, swam, rowed, skied, and snowboarded our way across the virtual finish line, clocking in an incredible 888 miles in total. Talk about rising to the challenge.
One of the best parts? The variety of ways we hit our target. There were gym sessions, family rambles, epic hikes, competitive rides, and even a few snowy descents thrown into the mix. This challenge was a great reminder that getting out and staying active looks different for everyone.
Of course, we had to have a little leaderboard moment:
(Side note: The shortest activity was logged at 0 miles - courtesy of a curious child playing with a Garmin on the sofa…)
Even if some stats caused mild controversy (Mark vs. Andy ski showdown may be incoming?), we loved every second. As a mostly remote team, staying connected can be a challenge in itself so we love setting these goals. It gives us a reason to check in, cheer each other on, and celebrate something outside of work.
With the success of this challenge, we’re already starting to think about what might be next. A summer challenge? A charity fundraiser? Maybe both! Whatever it is, we’ll bring the same energy, enthusiasm, and friendly competition.
A huge well done to everyone who took part. Go Team Affinity
